About

Ellé Hill is a Brighton-based photographic artist from the East Midlands. Her practice explores place and narrative, using the camera to give agency to that which might not always be visible. Themes of memory and collective consciousness run throughout her works, attempting to question how what we see and what we know are mediated within the surface of the photographic image. Highlighting the materiality of the photograph as an object is often achieved through using analogue methods and darkroom printing.

She completed her BA(Hons) in Photography in 2020 and is currently undertaking an MA in Photography at the University of Brighton.

In 2020, her work was exhibited on the Attenborough Arts Centre’s website as part of a group exhibition for No Jobs in the Arts online residency during lockdown.
